Porsche Design puts USB memory stick on sale

USB flash drives/ memory sticks are immensely popular, and available in a whole lot of flavor. Now Porsche has added its very own “sporty” flavor to the mix with this 2GB flash drive from Porsche Design. Design of the foldable memory stick is based on the car keys of the Panamera. The flash drive costs $49, which is quite expensive for a 2 gigs drive, but we guess the cost of getting a Porsche logo on the USB drive is the main thing here.

German engineering and design at its finest, Porsche is the dream car to many but Porsche specialized tuning house Gemballa have put their 27 years of expertise into stock Porsches to bring out their true potential. Total performance upgrade is Gemballa’s aim and their latest Mirage GT Matt Edition is a proof of their dedication in improving not only the performance but also in the visual department.

Gemballa’s factory is located less than 20kms of the Porsche factory and this particular vehicle is based on Porsche 980 Carrera GT model. The extrerior is covered in matt black paint job that is color coded on their custom body parts and even on the wheels. Interior is also fully modified in blue leather and silver/cabron accents. Under the hood, the engine makes 670hp with top speed of timed at 335km/h. Stand still to 100km/h is reached in 3.7 seconds while 200km/h is reached in 9.7 seconds, which shaves 0.2 seconds off the stock models respectively.

When the words ‘Porsche’ and ‘motorcycle’ are mentioned in the same sentence, it’s usually in connection with Harley-Davidson: first the abortive Nova project of the 80s, then the VR1000 racer in the 90s, and finally the Revolution engine that appeared in the V-Rod in 2001. But Porsche first dipped a toe into motorcycle design in the late 70s, releasing this little-known Motorcycle Study. Somewhat surprisingly, the makers of the 4.5L V8-engined 928 wanted to highlight the motorcycle’s superiority in energy use, air pollution and traffic space. “Comfort, safety and protection from mud and water were prime considerations, not the usual fascination with speed.”

Limited-Edition Cayenne GTS Porsche Design Edition 3

Porsche Design is out with the new limited-edition Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3. The Cayenne follows the trend from the Cayman S and Boxster S with special dark striping on the doors and hood that contrast with the unique Lava Grey Metallic paint color. The Cayenee GTS Design Edition 3 includes 21-inch SportPlus wheels, a roof spoiler, tinted glass and special “Porsche Design Edition 3″ branding around the exterior. The interior is marked out with carbon fiber trim, black leather and contrasting red stitching. The Limited-Edition Cayenne GTS Porsche Design Edition 3 also comes with some Porsche Design accessories that include a chronograph watch and a four-piece luggage set. Only 1,000 units of the Porsche Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3 will be made. Pricing is set to start at $89,900 in the U.S where only 100 will be available.
