Reebok “FLASH” Pop-Up Store - NYC

Reebok has recently opened their New York City pop-up store they call “FLASH”. The store features items you may expect to find in such a temporary store, like limited kicks and clothing. What differentiates FLASH from pop-up stores we typically see is the thoughtfulness Reebok has put into the project. First off, the store takes up a whopping 3000 square feet of space. This generous space is not just a vacant store-front, but the CVZ Contemporary art gallery, which was founded in 2004 in order to help launch and promote emerging NYC artists.

Furthermore, the entire store pays homage to it’s host city’s cultural history, with 1980’s inspired, urban decor as well as similarly inspired goods. So far we have seen two Reebok shoes exclusive to FLASH, that have been inspired by beer, ATMs and taxis, all three being items you can’t be in NYC without seeing. In the month the store will be open, there will be weekly, themed exclusives as well as an array of products that will remain unchanged throughout FLASH’s duration. The store will be open until December 15th, so if you are in the city, be sure to check it out.

Vladi Rapaport Vanitas Collection

A breakout star of Tent London, Vladi Rapaport is a 27 year old Ukraine born, Netherlands based designer. His latest collection, called ‘Vanitas’, is inspired by the popular mode of still life painting in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. When asked about his collection, Rapaport said, “My goal was to combine the idea of thinking about death with a modern design vision, and to allow the user of the product to enjoy every moment of his life by surrounding him with the Vanitas symbols”. Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair Duel Hoodie

Items with removable pieces have always drawn the short straw, so to speak. They’re usually badly made jackets with incredibly flimsy hoods, so it’s great to see someone doing it differently. This Fifth avenue shoe repair jacket has the standard removable hood, but it’s done in a different manner from usual – with the removable hood also having a wrap-around neck piece and a hidden Velcro attachment. Get it from Oak.

New Paul Smith Bags....

Paul Smith pieces are well known for having a touch of the English eccentric about them and this holdall is no different. While it is a canvas bag, the print – several pictures of medal ribbons – allows it to not look like any other canvas bag you’ve seen. Add to the fact that it still has the leather handles that other Smith bags have - making it much nicer to hold – and you have a winner. Get it from the Paul Smith online store

Let that Top Down...

Revealing the Gallardo LP 560-4 early this year, famous Italian supercar maker Lamborghini introduce their convertible version, which will make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19th. The Gallardo’s engine was given a 40 hp upgrade from the previous model boasting a 5.2 liter V10 delivering 560 hp and 540 Nm of torque to all four wheels. With a 40% quicker sports shift, the clunky shifting of its precessesor has been eliminated allowing smoothing and faster transition between gears, which will help reach its top speed of its top speed of 324 km/h, with top up or down according to the automaker. Another new feature is the 20 second roof retractor, for those on the run.

ILL... Etnies’ ‘22′ Collection

Early next week, Colette will drop the Vent Deux, or “22″ Collection, a series of sneakers designed by the owner of etnies, Pierre Andre Senizergues. The name is a reference to the French version of “5-0,” a.k.a. the thing you yell when there are cops coming. So if you’re skating in France, or if you hear the hip-hop police coming and you’re in Paris, it’s “Vent-Deux.”

MaKeS yOu WoNdEr..??
