he Autumn 2011 collection shown during Paris Fashion Week was overall a strong one, with what looks like four or five different themes, starting with the logo collection, which was highlighted by bags with frame silhouettes (which Miu Miu also showed). Generally frame bags have an automatic vintage feel and LV’s are no exception, though the glossy logo leather somehow gives them a gangster moll edge, which adds to their appeal. There was also a satin logo group, and a tote handbag collection, featuring rich colors like burgundy and green. Finally a fleece fur group, the kind of bag you buy when you are a very rich girl blessed with multiple LVs and are looking for something novel and different. A very solid, back-to-basics collection that should do great at retail. Many more images on the next page.

Louis Vuitton 2011 Spring/Summer Damier Aventure Practical

Louis Vuitton release a sportier rendition of its popular Damier pattern through two bags seen here. The Damier Aventure Practical features a familiar tonal checkered pattern and instead of the usual leather based materials, it is seen in a foldable, lightweight nylon. The bag does however include leather and suede detailing. With its initial appearance for this season, the bag will be included in subsequent collections for men. The bag carries a suggested retail price of $910 USD.

Louis Vuitton “Tribe” Sneaker

Louis Vuitton has introduced a new streetwear-inspired sneaker boot named the Tribe. The futuristic shoe features a padded, V-shaped patchwork design crafted from calf leather and the brand’s signature checkerboard Damier Géant canvas covers the tongue and heel. With a removable anatomical insole and LV-embossed rubber sole, the Tribe is priced at $700 USD and is available in white, beige, blue and green colorways.
