Nicki Minaj Covers VIBE

Fresh off the controversial performance at the Grammys and releasing her new single, Nicki Minaj graces the cover of VIBE, crowning herself the queen bitch of this music ish. The February/March 2012 issue hits newsstands next week. VIBE: You’ve said before that you didn’t really have fun recording Pink Friday. Nicki Minaj: I felt like I had something to prove to everyone who said a female rapper could not make an album unless she was talking about her pussy. And so I went above and beyond to prove that I could not talk about sex and not talk about my genitalia and still have a successful album. And I proved that. And now my time for proving things to my critics is over. I don’t really need to prove anything to anyone else anymore.

Album of The Month November 2011- Drake "Take Care"

If I had to sum up Take Care in one word, I would say its growth. If theres one thing that Drake has shown us since he came into the rap game, its that he is, if nothing else, consistant. He has a formula: Rap a lot, sing a little, do a hook here and there, and bam, you've got Drake's whole catalogue in less that one sentence. Thats not necessarily a bad thing, and in the case of Take Care, Drake seems to focus more on perfecting his forumla rather than expanding it, while still showing us that he's gotten better.

MIXTAPE OF THE MONTH-September 2011- Future - "Streetz is Callin"

Another Classic under the Belt of the hottest artist in the Country right now. This dude is so on fire he is starting to make this look like Gucci Mane reincarnated again with a whole new "lingo" and wordplay. Although not a lyricist by any means, Future has the rhaspyness and alertness in his voice to wake a mid eastern village! His beat selection is perhaps the best I have seen since the old Gucci Mane as well. I dont know what it is but when your hot ...you ARE HOT! & this dude has it right now. If you cant see that then you are a getwit just like the rest of them. Here at Cartel Living we listen to artist earlier on and love them and watch 2 years later the world loves them...& beleive me Young Future aint no different. "AINT NO WAAYYYY AROUNNND THATTTT"
