Gonzalo Bénard began as an art history, fine arts and computer science student in the late-80s, he went on to pursue a career as editorial coordinator in the Cultural Centre of Belen in Lisbon, gained notoriety as the editorial coordinator of the Pavilion of Portugal in the 1995 Venice Biennale, left everything for a three-year residence in the painting school of a Tibetan monastery, came back, became a painter, finally ending up an emerging photographer.
